Drag Race fan favourite Plastique Tiara announces engagement: ‘Baby boy this is serious’
RuPaul’s Drag Race star, All Stars icon and viral TikTok sensation Plastique Tiara has confirmed her engagement to her partner.
The Vietnam-born queen, who first appeared on season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2019 before returning (and gagging the girls with her runways) in the charity-based All Stars 9 in 2024, took to Instagram to confirm her engagement with a trio of shots featuring a very chunky ring.
Quoting Ariana Grande’s “dandelion”, Plastique captioned the pictures, “Baby boy, this is serious.” The first image shows Plastique’s enormous rock over her partner’s shoulder, the second features the pair holding hands, and a third showing her partner kneeling among rose petals in a foggy field.
The post, which at the time of reporting has garnered nearly 400 thousand likes from the star’s four million followers, has been met with a flood of congratulations from her Drag Race contemporaries and fans alike.
All Stars 6 winner Kylie Sonique Love, season 13 champ Symone, and rumoured All Stars 10 cast member Kerri Colby, along with Michelle Visage, have all commented their congratulations to the couple.
Plastique announced her engagement a few hours earlier than her Instagram post while appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race review series The Pit Stop opposite host Monét X Change.
At the top of the episode, Drag Race icon Monét spotted the (admittedly, hard to miss) ring on the doll’s finger, leading the pair to celebrate.
“Are you -? Wait. Hold on a minute. What is on your finger? Is that a real engagement ring?” asked Monét.
“I’m engaged!” confirmed Plastique, joking, “It’s a drag ring. I wanted it to be big enough so that I could wear it in drag.”
Plastique first charmed Drag Race audiences with her beauty on season 11 and has since amassed a cool 12 million followers on TikTok, where she’s known for her makeup transformations, ASMR videos and ‘Get ready with me’ style vlogs.
